Cross County Tax Collector issues 2023 property tax statements, encourages residents to review, pay promptly

CROSS COUNTY — Personal property and real estate tax statements have been mailed from the Cross County Tax Collector’s Office for the 2023 tax year. Those taxes will be due in October.

“Make sure you’re looking over your statements and that everything looks correct,” said Cross County Tax Collector Kristy Davis. “We did do a lot of emailing this year. We were gathering email addresses from everyone because of the tornado and just due to the mail.

“If you have not received your statement – everyone should be getting their statement shortly – if you have not received it in the next month or so, you may want to call,” Davis added. “I know there have been a lot of address changes for a lot of people due to the tornado this past year so we may not have your updated address or forwarding address.”

Davis said those who have not received their statement can contact her office to update their information.

County residents with a large tax bill also have a number of options to pay before the due date in October.

“You can make payments as long as your account is current,” Davis said. “There is no max or minimum payment. You can do it online, or you can send in a check as long as it is current… whether it be $5, $10, weekly, or monthly, however, you want to do it.

“That’s a great benefit that we have in our office for you to make payments, especially if you have high taxes,” she added. “So you have several months that you can pay out those taxes instead of trying to pay them all out at one time.”
