CROSS COUNTY — Thirty-five students from Cross County recently participated in a farm-to-table class taught by Stacy Witcher of the Cross County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee. The students grew strawberries after reading the book, “I Love Strawberries!” by Shannon Anderson. The American Farm Bureau Federation for Agriculture selected the book as the 2024 Book of the Year.

The students also grew tomato plants and had visitors that taught them about rabbits, bees, chickens, goats, sheep, and horses, and their importance in Arkansas agriculture. They also received books, readers, and bookmarks from the Arkansas Farm Bureau on corn, poultry, conservation, and Arkansas’ crops and livestock.
