CHERRY VALLEY — The Cross County School District will kick off another year of its All Pro Dad chapter this week.
The meeting will be held starting at 7 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at the high school cafeteria.
District Communications Director Wes Hooper explains the purpose of All Pro Dad.
“On Sept. 18, we’re going to have our All Pro Dads meeting. We started that program last year. It’s typically held in the elementary cafeteria before school, about 7 to 7:30 a.m.,” he said. “Of course, with the construction, we’re going to move it to the high school cafeteria.
“It’s a program designed to help dads and other father figures become more involved in their children’s lives,” Hooper added. “We think it’s very important that they have this opportunity. It’s about being intentional, making this intentional time for kids and their dads to be together. We want our students to know that the adults in their lives are interested in what they’re doing, that they’re proud of them and they’re willing to show up for them.”
The district said the monthly meetings are an opportunity for dads and their children to spend intentional time together while having breakfast and meaningful conversations before the school day begins.
Transportation will be provided for elementary students after the meeting.
Mentors will also be provided for students who may need them by emailing kathryn.pruiett@crosscountyschools.com. RSVPs can also be made online.
