The Cross County School Board met Monday for the first time following the death of longtime board member Craig Walker. Superintendent Dr. Nathan Morris said the board has about two months to fill the position.
In other news, Dr. Morris said the board approved plans to move forward with the second phase of the Thunderbird addition.
Dr. Morris said the Thunderbird addition is located in the old rodeo area near the former Cherry Valley Elementary School. The first phase included ten lots that had already been sold.
The district has also made several upgrades on campus including to Thunderbird Stadium and the fieldhouse in anticipation of students’ return on Aug. 2.
