The Cross County Museum will host a chili and soup fundraiser this Friday at the museum, 711 E. Union Avenue in Wynne. The hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door.
Becky Taylor said a wide variety of chili and soups will be available including chili with and without beans, white chili with black beans, potato soup, chicken noodle soup, and vegetable beef soup.
Rita Allen added there will be a good number of desserts as well, many she made herself.
“We’re going to have chocolate pie, coconut pie, pecan pie, cherry cobbler, peach cobbler, a couple of chocolate cakes, caramel apple cake, coconut cake, a chocolate chip cherry cake, strawberry cake with cream cheese icing, a butter cake, bread pudding, and a chocolate chip cheesecake,” she said.
Taylor said proceeds from this fundraiser and any other are poured back into the museum.
“We have our supplies to buy. We have our displays to buy,” she said. “We have items to go with our displays. We buy mannequins and we may have a uniform, but then maybe it needs a hat so we have to buy the hat. A lot of times these caps and hats can get pricey, especially in the military. We are always buying displays, and we’re always trying to better our equipment.”
