Cross County Hall of Distinction nominations due Aug. 31

CHERRY VALLEY — The deadline to submit a nomination for the Cross County School District’s Hall of Distinction is Monday, Aug. 31.

“This is our fourth year, I believe, in the Hall of Distinction,” said Wes Hooper, Cross County School District public information officer. “Nominations are due Aug. 31. That can be anybody who graduated from Cross County in 2016 or before, so they have to be a 10-year graduate to be eligible for that. There are different categories that they can fit in, and usually everybody finds a place. We want to make sure that we get all the people who we know are qualified for that Hall of Distinction to get nominations in for those people.”

The Hall of Distinction preserves and celebrates the history of Cross County High School, while also inspiring current and future Thunderbirds by sharing the stories of alumni who exemplify success, leadership and service.

Nominees must be graduates of Cross County High School, have graduated at least 10 years prior to nomination and demonstrate significant accomplishments in one or more of the following categories: public service, career success, cultural enrichment or athletic achievement, contributions to the district and heroism.

More information is available on the Cross County School District’s website.
