CHERRY VALLEY — Cross County Elementary Technology Academy will be able to provide all students with school supplies free of charge for the 2026-2027 school year.
“Our school supplies for the year K-6, we’re going to pay for those,” said Cross County Superintendent Dr. Nathan Morris. “Parents are not going to have to get school supplies. The old go to Walmart or the dollar store and see the list and go find, we’re taking care of all that this year.
“Crayons, paper, pencils, rulers… all a kid needs to do coming back K-6 next year is when they come back for the 2026-27 school year is bring a backpack,” he added. “And, if they don’t have a backpack, we’ll get them one of those too.”
Dr. Morris said a surplus in funds and a reallocation of other funds has allowed the district to do that.
