CHERRY VALLEY — The Cross County School District has completed the staff of new head football coach Ty Mimbs.
Cody Campbell, head baseball coach and the wide receivers/defensive backs coach at Augusta, has been hired as an assistant coach for the T-Birds. He will replace Connor Haag, who was an assistant football coach and head softball and golf coach at Cross County. Haag replaced Tyler Gahr as the head football coach at Jonesboro Westside. Gahr is now an assistant coach under new Wynne head football coach Randy Coleman.
Campbell is a 2023 graduate of Harding University, and served as an assistant coach at Harding Academy during their 2023 state championship season. He has been at Augusta for the past three years as a middle school science teacher and EAST facilitator along with his coaching duties.
At Cross County, Campbell will also serve as an assistant under new baseball coach Tyler Walls. Walls replaced Alex Coveny, who returned to the Marion School District.
Kaylee Wolfe will replace Haag as softball coach. Current Cross County Elementary P.E. teacher Amy Smith has been named an assistant under Wolfe.
