WYNNE — The community is encouraged to “Sponsor a Shelter Dog” ahead of the low-cost spay and neuter clinic set for the Wynne Sports Complex next week.
The clinic will be held Tuesday, Aug. 18, through Thursday, Aug. 20. Residents are asked to help cover the costs for two dogs currently being housed by Wynne Animal Control: Lucy and Sadie.
Approximately $105 to $130 is needed per dog. The dogs are also available for adoption.
Donations can be made to PAWS of Marion by PayPal (marionangels@yahoo.com) or Venmo (@paws-of-marion). Put Lucy or Sadie in the payment note.
Keeli Smith, an organizer for the clinic, said nearly 50 stray cats in the community have also been spayed or neutered since April. That includes strays that populate several local grocery store and gas station locations. Funding for that effort came from the Dr. Harmon Smith Memorial Fund.
More information on the spay and neuter clinic is available online.
