Cherry Valley considers local ambulance service to improve emergency response

CHERRY VALLEY — Cherry Valley officials are exploring the idea of bringing an ambulance service to the city.

During the council’s March meeting, alderman Ricky Lace said he would like to see an ambulance service in Cherry Valley.

Lace said having a locally-based ambulance service would benefit citizens by cutting down on response time which could be critical.

There are two ambulance services currently serving Cross County – Crittenden EMS and Southern EMS. Both are dispatched through the Cross County Sheriff’s Office to Wynne, Cherry Valley, Fair Oaks, and Hickory Ridge. The City of Parkin has its own dispatch center.

Southern EMS previously had a base in Cherry Valley.

Cherry Valley Mayor Adam Love said he would research the topic further and present more information at the council’s April meeting.
