Chamber discusses Back to School Bash, new outreach efforts

WYNNE — The Cross County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Back to School Bash on Thursday, July 16, at the Bill Thomas Tech Center in Wynne. It will be held from 6-8 p.m. that day.

The event will once again feature a foam party and a free backpack giveaway. Children must show proof of residency in Cross County, or attend a school in Cross County in order to receive a backpack. There will also be free food, face painting, and inflatables for children. Local celebrities will also be taking turns in the dunk tank.

The Back to School Bash was a big topic of discussion during the Chamber board’s monthly meeting yesterday. Lexie Gahr also presented an update on Wynne FarmFest and the recent MAKO Conference. Gahr said one idea brought back from the conference is a guide to present to sponsors detailing each event held by the Chamber during the year.

Gahr said another guide will be created as part of a new “Welcome to Cross County” packet that will be given to new hires in the Wynne and Cross County School Districts. Gahr also discussed signage featuring the new chamber logo that will be used for events and the newest members of the Chamber to conclude the meeting.
