EASTERN ARKANSAS — A “Happy Birthday America!” celebration is planned for Saturday – Independence Day – at Trinity Baptist Church in Wynne.
“This is the 250th anniversary of the United States of America,” said Carl Baldwin, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church. “We like our 4th of July celebrations anyway. This year, we’ve turned it into a big celebration. It’s a community celebration. We want everyone in the community to know that it’s a free celebration. We want them to come out and be a part of it. We have so much going on — a lot of food and fun, all kinds of games. We have professional musicians and singers coming in, but a big fireworks show at the end of the program.”
The event will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday. Trinity Baptist Church is located at 2411 Highway 64 W. in Wynne.
That’s just one of several community events planned across the area as the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary.
