Annual ‘Planting Your Bloomers’ gardening seminar set to blossom in Wynne

WYNNE — The Cross County Master Gardeners are planning their annual “Planting Your Bloomers” gardening seminar. The seminar is set for Friday, April 12, at the Bill Thomas Tech Center.

Master Gardener Kitty Bingham said a variety of speakers are on tap for this year.

“We’re going to have Mike Wilbanks, and he’s going to talk about the ‘Health Benefits of Houseplants,” Bingham said. “We’ve got Chris Cooper. He’s going to talk about ‘Pests and Diseases in the Landscape: If Plants Could Talk.’ We have Randy Forst, and he’s going to talk about ‘Birds, Branches, and Blooms.’ He’s a horticulture educator for the Extension Office so he works with us all the time. And Linda Glickert, she invites bluebirds into your garden. She’s a Master Gardener from Greene County.”

Registration is now open, and early reservations are recommended.

“All you need to do is call the Extension Office, or if you got a flier in the mail, mail that in,” said Master Gardener Kay King. “Registration is $30. After April 6, it’s $35.”

Registration includes breakfast snacks and a pasta bar catered by Tomahawk Grill. Gluten-free options will be available.

King said there will also be a number of vendors with plenty of time to shop.

“Our speakers are interesting. It’s going to be a fun day,” she said. “You’ll have time to shop in between speakers and at lunch. Just come early and shop before we start. You can register between 9 and 10 that morning. The seminar runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.”

For more information, or to register, call the Cross County Extension Office at 870-238-5745.
