WYNNE — Wynne Water Utilities is nearing the completion of one building as part of the rebuild of the wastewater treatment plant.
Wynne Water Utilities General Manager Blake Marotti told members of the Wynne City Council last night that a walk-through of the administration building at the site was performed last week. He said that crews are working on a final punch list for that building.
Marotti said that the maintenance building is right behind that. However, the contractor has requested a 60-day extension for the maintenance building. Marotti said that building should be wrapping up in August with the remaining building, the wastewater treatment plant itself, on target to be finished in June of next year.
The wastewater treatment plant was among the buildings damaged or destroyed in the March 31, 2023, tornado. That includes Wynne High School, several churches and hundreds of other buildings and structures.
The new Wynne High School is also expected to be completed by next summer.
